We will now begin to look at the way the various parts of the organization work together.
At the end of this phase,
- we will have a picture of the way the enterprise looks in terms of the “building blocks” that compose it.
- We will see the interaction of these building blocks and
- We will have an idea of how to ensure that the whole thing works together in an integrated form.
Remember: we create policies to absorb variety. Variety is absorbed best locally. Our policy will therefore assign priorities to:
- First handle things locally
- If this is not possible, try to devise a horizontal coordination
Only involve higher management if something cannot be managed in these systems.
